Amy Summers

Amy Summers is a British composer and orchestrator currently working in London. Her music draws upon her experiences in a wide range of creative settings, including sound design, choral music, dance and the film world.

Amy has had recordings, performances and commissions from a wide range of ensembles and individuals including BBC Singers, Anna Lapwood, the Hermes Experiment, Heather Roche, Ensemble 360, Exultate Singers, choreographer Katie Burks, City of Bristol Choir, St Peter’s Singers, Nottingham Cathedral Choir and the Ludlow English Song Festival.

Amy studied at the University of Nottingham where she was co-conductor of the University Sinfonia orchestra and recipient of the Hallward Prize for Composition. After graduating with 1st class honours in 2017, she spent a year as Composer-in-Residence at Nottingham Cathedral Choir before continuing her composition studies with John Ashton Thomas at Trinity College of Music, London.

Her music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and published by the RSCM, OUP, Multitude of Voyces and White Light Publishing.
